Attack of the Vine Lands Today: Disney Lorcana Set 13 Is Here
Something has been creeping through the background art since Whispers in the Well. Today it takes over completely.
Disney Lorcana: Attack of the Vine! hits wide retail on 24 July 2026, and it is the biggest set Ravensburger has put out. 207 cards in the main set, the first Lorcana set ever to break the 204 card ceiling, plus Epic, Enchanted and Iconic rarities sitting on top of that.
It is also the set where Pixar properly moves in. Monsters, Inc. (Mike, Sulley, Boo), Up (Carl, Dug, Russell) and Turning Red (Meilin and Ming Lee) all join for the first time, while Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid and the Mickey Mouse Gang return with redesigned cards.
In stock now in Bridport, Axminster and online.
What's Actually New
The story picks up from Winterspell, where Elsa first tried to freeze the threat back. An invasive thorny vine now spawns "vineling" monsters and leafy duplicates of existing glimmers, turning the Ink world upside down. You will see this in card names too, with characters like Scar and Ursula getting Created by the Vine versions.
Three mechanics change how you build:
| Mechanic | What it does |
|---|---|
| Temporary Shift | Shift a character into play for a single turn, then return it to hand along with any damage on it, resetting the base form for another swing next turn. |
| Hunny | New Winnie the Pooh themed resource play, headlined by Christopher Robin, Hunny Sage |
| Vineling tokens | The Vine spawns its own board presence |
Each booster pack contains 12 cards, a booster display holds 24 packs. The Illumineer's Trove is also in, with eight booster packs, six damage counter dice, a spin dial lore counter, card dividers and a storage box.
How To Play Disney Lorcana
New to the game, or picking it up because Sulley and Boo finally showed up? Lorcana is genuinely one of the easiest TCGs to learn. Here is the short version:
The goal. First player to 20 lore wins. That's it.
Your deck. 60 cards minimum, maximum two ink colours, no more than four copies of any card.
Your turn, in order:
- Ready your exerted cards
- Draw a card (skip this on your very first turn if you go first)
- Ink one card from hand, face down, into your inkwell. Only cards with the swirl border on the left can be inked. This is your mana
- Play characters, items, actions and songs by paying ink
- Quest by exerting a character to gain the lore shown next to the leaf icon
- Challenge an opponent's exerted character to trade damage
The one rule that trips everyone up. Characters have "drying ink" the turn they arrive. They cannot quest or challenge until your next turn, unless they have Rush.
Keywords worth learning first: Bodyguard, Evasive, Rush, Ward, Shift, Singer, Support, Challenger.
Watch the walkthrough below and you will be playing in about ten minutes.
Best entry point right now is a Starter Deck. Two ready to play decks, no deckbuilding needed, and you can be playing across the table in minutes. We run Lorcana in store, so come and get a game in.
The Chase Cards
This is where Attack of the Vine gets serious. Set 13 confirms 18 Epic cards and 18 Enchanted cards, noticeably more than the 5 to 8 range typical of earlier sets, with most of the Enchanted prints dual ink.
The Two Iconics
Iconic sits above Enchanted. It is the rarest tier in the game, and this set has two.
Lilo & Stitch, Fun-Loving Friends (Amber/Steel, 244)
The one everyone wants. It looks like the most obvious auto include for Amber/Steel decks since Rapunzel, Gifted With Healing and Tinker Bell, Giant Fairy. It costs three less ink than the Belle & Beast Iconic, its shift cost is halved, and it is generally more durable while also supporting other characters.
Belle & Beast, Certain as the Sun (Ruby/Sapphire, 245)
Slightly tougher to cast, but arguably the better looking of the pair. Both Iconics use the movie poster inspired "Cinemagic" full bleed art treatment that Ravensburger positioned as the set's top collector target, above even Enchanted. They also mark the return of dual ink cards.
Enchanted Highlights
Winnie the Pooh & Piglet, Hunny Mages headlines the Enchanted lineup alongside Sulley & Boo and Meilin Lee, Popular Red Panda. Also in the Enchanted run: Dash Parr & Violet Parr, Super Siblings, Darkwing Duck & Launchpad, St. Canard's Finest, and Scar, Created by the Vine.
All Enchanted cards feature borderless full art designs with a rainbow foil finish.
Playable Chases Worth Grabbing
Not every valuable card is Iconic. These are the singles likely to hold value because people actually need them:
- Ming Lee, Giant Red Panda (Turning Red) with Temporary Shift
- Sulley, The New Boss
- Boo, Energetic Child
- Christopher Robin, Hunny Sage (Legendary)
- Dual ink Legendaries: Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, Adventuring Duo, Woody & Buzz Lightyear, Best Buddies, Rapunzel & Flynn Rider, Unlikely Pair
Collector or Player? Buy Differently
Chasing hits: buy sealed at launch. Displays and Illumineer's Troves. Iconic pull rates are brutal and secondary market prices on the two dual ink Iconics are only going one way.
Building a deck: wait roughly a week. Singles are always inflated on launch weekend and settle once supply catches up. Grab a Starter Deck now and fill gaps later.
Both: a display plus a Trove covers you.
